Secondary Teaching Assistant

Secondary Teaching Assistant Grantham, NG - 105 per day Mon-Fri, 8:30 - 3:30 ASAP Start

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a flair for classroom management and strong behaviour management? Long-term futures are proud to be working closely with an Ofsted GOOD specialist school for pupils aged 5-16 with complex SEMH needs.

In this role, you will support pupils and their families in overcoming the barriers to education they've encountered, providing them access to future opportunities. Working closely with subject teachers and the SENDCo to support teaching and learning, working with individuals or small groups with additional learning needs.

What does this role entail?

• Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff.
• Frequently work with individual pupils with special educational needs.
• Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the classroom teachers.
• Support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils in each group you are supporting.

Sounds good, what do I need?

• Previous experience in supporting students with SEMH needs
• Has a strong knowledge and practical understanding of Special Needs (SEN)
• Strong classroom & behavioural management skills to cater to complex needs and challenging behaviours.
• Previous experience in education settings (6 months minimum)
