Speech and Language Therapist (BSL Trained) Special School, Wandsworth
Full-Time Term-Time Only Competitive Salary (Dependent on Experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join our specialist team at a vibrant and inclusive special school in Wandsworth. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with complex communication needs.

About the Role:

As our Speech and Language Therapist, you will:

• Assess, diagnose, and provide tailored interventions for students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
• Support children and young people who use British Sign Language (BSL) as their primary mode of communication.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families, and external professionals to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
• Deliver one-to-one and group therapy sessions, as well as classroom-based support.
• Contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and provide professional reports as required.
• Provide training and guidance to staff to promote a total communication environment.

Requirements:

• HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist (essential).
• British Sign Language (BSL) qualification minimum Level 2 (Level 3 or above preferred).
• Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, preferably in a special school setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to inclusive practice.
