Phonics Lead & Year 2 Teacher Position at a Charming Primary School in Thurrock

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher with a strong background in phonics to join our vibrant primary school community in Thurrock. Position: Phonics Lead & Year 2 Teacher

Location: Thurrock, Essex

Key Responsibilities:

• Phonics Leadership: Oversee the delivery of phonics instruction, support colleagues in implementing effective phonics strategies, and ensure strong early reading outcomes for all students.

• Classroom Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum for Year 2 students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

• Student Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.

• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience and contribute to the school's continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - Cover Supervisors with strong teaching experience in Phonics are encouraged to apply for this role.

• Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2.

• Strong understanding of phonics instruction and early reading strategies.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• A passion for inspiring young learners and leading educational initiatives.
