We are looking for strong, inspiring, passionate and confident SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Menal Health) teaching assistants equipped with excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young learners who may need extra support. This will range from cover for day to day, short term and long term placements supporting children in education. This will be the ideal opportunity to gain an abundance of experience to add to your profile.

The school based in Darlington and aims to develop children into self-assured, confident, happy and positive young people. The school provides education and support to primary aged children with social, emotional and mental health needs.

In this role, you will be working with a students aged between KS1 and KS2 , creating positive relationships and an inclusive learning environment. If you have a range of both SEN and SEMH experience. The role would have an immediate start. Some of your key responsibilities may include supporting learning, individual and group support, help prepare learning materials and look after the mental and physical well-being of students.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Experience in assisting young learners in education on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months experience in an education establishment
• Team Teach
• Excellent communication skills
• Be calm and caring
• Experienced with challenging behaviour and resilient
