Job title: PE Instructor

Location: Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucester GL4 0UN

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 4.30pm

Salary: £25,000.00 per annum

Contract: Permanent; Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a PE Instructor to join our close-knit team at Brookthorpe Hall School, part of Options Autism.

Purpose of Job

Working as PE Instructor you will deliver fun educational based learning to individual pupils and small groups of students for PE & Games and any other practical based activities that could engage and motivate students. You will be supported in partnership with the teaching staff to ensure students reach their full potential.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

• To teach a variety of skills relating to physical education.
• To be deliver 1-1 and small group interventions for students to support them in their education.
• Take responsibility for enhancing the physical education provision at Brookthorpe Hall School.
• To play a key role in the development of SEN provision within Brookthorpe Hall School.
• To work with schools, parents, key agencies and the pupils with SEN to ensure effective and successful inclusion of pupils including those with ASD and SEMH within Brookthorpe Hall School.
• To support the development of learning styles and appropriate teaching approaches, behaviour management, classroom strategies, resources and whole school policies for pupils with complex needs and diagnoses within Brookthorpe Hall School.
• To work with the schools therapy team and build a strong curriculum based on the needs of the students.
• To enable access to learning and social opportunities for pupils with SEN through the delivery of teaching and support of families and the student

Brookthorpe Hall School is a new independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 7 to 16, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs, SEMH/ASD/Complex trauma.
