We are happy to be recruiting for one of our high-profile utilities clients. They are currently looking for a P6 Planner to join them for an initial 6-month contract. However, there may be scope for extension.

Job Purpose:

To provide significant contribution to the analysis of programme planning variances identified during site visits and assessment of the contractor performance against planned work, to provide information that will aid recommendations to improve delivery performance.

Make recommendations to continuously develop and improve end to end processes, including preparation for sanction, critical path and total float analysis, earned value management techniques, and leading indicators for risk mitigation to ensure the successful delivery to time, and within allowances.

Key Accountabilities:

• Engage with Asset Operations teams to establish timelines for production of quality assured and cost loaded, out-turned deliverable programmes, where required, for sanction, that meet the capital plan year on year.
• Support the Commercial & Contracts team to consistently evaluate tender returns within procurement guidelines.
• During delivery, certify that all subsequent contractor programmes are compliant to the NEC and works information.
• Carry out impact assessments of early warnings or change events either from our supply chain or contract Project Manager to validate variances from Key Dates.
• Assess and validate supply chain progress during design and attend site during delivery to confirm construction progress.
• Represent the company whilst engaging with contractor planning resource to complete month end reporting routines, and liaise with Asset Operations stakeholders to raise exceptions early to enable corrective actions, as well as share good practices.
• Continuously review and improve processes by raising innovative solutions to drive value and establish best practice planning and project controls.

Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How:

Interpersonal, Supervisory or Management

• A stakeholder-centric approach to delivering a high-quality output.
• Proficient understanding and demonstrable working knowledge of business processes and governance.
• Demonstrable experience of working in cross functional teams
• Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management

Technical or Specialist

• Advanced knowledge of P6 or equivalent planning tool
• Skilled capability to assess change and impact assessment on time risk allowance and forensic analysis.
• Advanced understanding of the key NEC clauses for Planning and Early Warning

Location:

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to work from the clients Derby office 2-3 days a week.

Working hours:

Standard working hours with some flex where required.
