AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares
for civil and military applications.

AHUK is also the MoD's chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Helicopter Flying school (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).

Description/Overall purpose of the Job

This is an opportunity arising as the result of a new team being introduced in order to improve efficiencies on the hangar floor at the Oxford Civil Helicopter Service Centre. You will be responsible for the setting up and supervision of a new Operational Support Team. The team will be engaged in support activities such as aircraft movements, coordination of refuelling, ramp control and hangar husbandry. This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a brand new team that will make a positive difference to operations at AHUK Oxford.

Main responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with AOS and 5S in the hangar.
Co-ordination of aircraft ground movements and ensuring aircraft are tied down when required if left outside.
Liaison with the CSMs and pilots to optimise aircraft dispersal/ramp utilisation.
Consultation with MRO/Installations and airport personnel to provide aircraft refuelling.
Ensuring that aircraft are well presented in time for the handover back to the customer.
Regular interaction with the MRO supervisors to ensure support functions are effective.
Van fleet general management.
Oversight of general hangar cleanliness.
Coordination of tooling and parts supply to the aircraft maintenance bays in the hangar.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential
Experience in the leadership of a small team or willingness and motivation to learn.
Background in aviation either in maintenance or operations.
Experienced in the handling and care requirements of helicopters.
Enthusiastic and willing to "go the extra mile" to achieve customer satisfaction.

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential
Experience that directly relates to the operation of helicopters.
Desirable
Specific qualification in health and safety

Additional requirements
Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for SC clearance.
Applicants must meet any/all requirements of ITAR and Export Compliance Regulations.
Position based at Oxford Airport, UK.
Travel within the UK or abroad to support related business requirements (not extensive).
