About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive team in Hounslow. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic school setting, where you will support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and complex behavioural challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted support to students with autism, learning difficulties, and other complex needs.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other professionals to ensure students' academic and emotional needs are met.
  • Promote inclusion and independence within the classroom and school environment, encouraging students to develop life skills and social interactions.
  • Manage classroom behaviour using effective strategies and interventions to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies as required to support their development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to each student s education.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with autism, learning disabilities, and complex behavioural needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including the use of visual aids, PECS, Makaton, and other communication tools.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills, with the ability to create a calm, structured classroom environment.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, parents, and other professionals.
