Job Purpose / Overview:

We are seeking a Site Environmental Advisor to join the Sizewell C Delivery Construction Team. As an Environmental Advisor, you'll be part of a dedicated team ensuring that all environmental and sustainability aspects of the project are managed effectively. Collaborating with our Tier 1 Partners, you'll drive environmental performance and ensure compliance with regulatory consents and permits.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Conducting site inspections, identifying environmental issues, and reporting observations promptly.
• Providing expert advice on environmental legislation, permits, and planning constraints.
• Reviewing contractor's environmental management plans to ensure compliance with regulations and project standards.
• Supporting self-assessment and internal audits to ensure adherence to legislation and best practices.
• Leading investigations of environmental incidents and recommending preventive measures.
• Identifying contractual issues and escalating them appropriately.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

• Previous experience in an Environmental Management role on a construction or industrial project.
• In-depth knowledge of UK environmental legislation relevant to construction or industrial installations.
• Understanding of the client/contractor relationship and legal responsibilities under relevant regulations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in environmental or related discipline.
• Experience with environmental management systems conforming to recognised standards.
