Job Description:
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our client. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the purchase ledger and utilising Excel for various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger Management:
Process supplier invoices and credit notes.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and process supplier payments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase ledger records.
Excel Utilisation:
Create and maintain spreadsheets to track financial data.
Perform data analysis and generate financial reports.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity.
General Accounting Support:
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
Strong proficiency in managing purchase ledgers.
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
AAT or Part Qualified
Qualifications:
AAT qualification or equivalent is required
Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
